MIND IN MOTION:The good mood hormone

Whenever  we study and learn, several things happen in our brain: new cell generate, new connections between   certain cells are strengthened or removed. Studies shows that a stimulating environment and the presence of beta-endorphin (the good mood hormone) lead to good cell growth in our brains. The neurological Foundation of New Zealand says these factor affects brain health:


  • Regular physical. exercise: this protect the brain and the way it processes information. it is also said to help prevent dementia. Exercise boosts levels of brain protective chemicals and reduces stress. Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise a day...
  • Adequate sleep: A good night's sleep recharge the brain and allows the body to rest and heal. Our brain consolidates memories while we sleep. Inadequate sleeps affects the our brain cells function and can increase the risk of stoke and depression. About to seven our nine hour of sleep anight is ideal...
  • Stress Levels: High levels of chronic stress are not only bad for blood pressure, cholesterol, and other physical ailments, they also chip away at brain fitness and overall memory performance. We can't entirely eliminate stress from our lives, but we can minimize it to improved memory and brain health...
  • Balance diet: Your diet should be low in cholesterol and saturated fat. Studies shows that food rich in omega-3 fatty acids are good for the brain...
  • Social connection: Friendship and social connection important as we age. Good mood hormones help us create brain cells and keep them healthy...
