Keep things fresh
Christmas in summer time is perfect for sun and sand – but it also leads to meals spoilage. Warm moist weather causes viruses to grow in meals that is not prepared or saved effectively and can result in excess waste or even sickness. We’ve put together a guidelines with some simple guidelines and tips to preparing and saving meals this Xmas. From the fundamentals of keeping elements fresh to the correct heat range for saving different meals, it can help you toss away less meals and keep your friends and family healthy over the holiday period.
Smart storage space and planning checklist:
1. Keep it clean
Always clean your hands before managing meals. Keep all cooking materials, common covers, utensilsa nd bins fresh to help avoid cross-contamination.
2. Individual – don’t contaminate
Meat liquids often contain micro-organisms that can poison other meals, so use separate cutting forums for meat and shop meat independently. Marinate bbq meat in made storage space containers and position on the bottom space in the refrigerator until you are ready to toss them on the barbie items. This will avoid the liquids leaking onto other meals.
3. Cook it real good

Heat hot meals above 60ºC and shop cold meals below 5ºC.Never leave meals to unfreeze on the bench-top through the day – thaw freezing meals in the refrigerator to keep it at a secure, continuous heat range. Take meals out of the refrigerator just before offering and use eskies / fridges to take cold meals to the beach, a picnic and bbqs. Frozen liquids in kids meal bins are a great way to keep other products cool for break and meal.
5.Shop smart
While purchasing, focusing on planning and storage space guidelines, as well as time frame requirements on brands can help you create more secure diet. Look at the “best before” or “use by” time frame, especially on cold products that are noticeable down for a quick sale. When selecting meals, avoid irritated packages and containers with dents and dings. Check that the closes are complete and there are no holes in the appearance. 6. What about leftovers?
