Addictive Food And Its Harmful Consequences

Most of us like to at least one product that has the effect of a stimulant and that eventually becomes an addiction. These products include exercise stimulant drinks (they come in cans and look like cola) carbonated soft drinks, snuff, nuts, betel leaf, strong coffee, strong tea, Mahuang (a compound similar to ephedrine used in China), and the alcohol.

Before I tell you why they should not consume these products, I would like to address the question of why we eat first.

There is no one who does not know that such products that are consumed in excess, can seriously harm your body. But we still find hard to resist. The need to eat food stimulus is simply a human weakness that has existed for centuries: people (and many animals) have always delivered to the food that gives a kind of emotional high. In clinical terms, this means a rapid pulse, sweating a little, the expansion or constriction of the pupils in the eyes, a hot flush on his face, and a sense of sensitivity, greater concentration and perception.

These feelings of "high" to die in a few hours and we were lethargic and weak. This leads to a desire that the new food, a great experience once again. And there we will turn around in a vicious circle.

The physiology of addiction is as follows:

When you eat food is addictive, it stimulates the hormone-like substances found at the end of the nerve, which triggers an avalanche of similar experiences and high stimulants. While the material near the nerves are in danger, you should just step, which will take you to desire that the new food. This yo-yo phase of nerve stimulation and depletion leads to models of dependence.

Dependence on food consumption is one of the oldest unhealthy food practices, and despite the revolution in health consciousness, shows no signs of dying.

Here are some of the side effects of some food addiction.

Alcohol addiction: the erosion of the stomach and intestinal lining, liver damage, nutritional deficiency.

Snuff: the erosion of the gums and tongue may lead to cancer of the oral mucosa.

Betel nut: Leads to discoloration of teeth, erosion of the oral mucosa and cancer of the mouth and upper digestive tract. It will also lead to heart problems among people who already have a weak heart.

Ma Huang: It contains ephedrine and leads to heart problems.

Soft drinks, high doses of caffeine.

Caffeine and xanthine: Found in tea, coffee. They become harmful at very high doses, do not consume more than five cups a day.

Mixed reactions to medications: People who take medication for the heart, hypertension and asthma should be very careful with the interaction of drugs with food stimulant that mixing the two can be fatal. After several years of experience, knowledge, all the doctors how hard it is to break food dependency of their patients. So like them, I can only recommend a good compromise. If you can not break the addiction, so at least you should practice moderation.
