Food Addiction And Its Damaging Consequences

There is no one who does not know that such products that are consumed in excess, can seriously harm your body. But we still find hard to resist. The need to eat food stimulus is simply a human weakness that has existed for centuries: people (and many animals) have always delivered to the food that gives a kind of emotional high. In clinical terms, this means a rapid pulse, sweating a little, the expansion or constriction of the pupils in the eyes, a hot flush on his face, and a sense of sensitivity, greater concentration and perception.

These feelings of "high" to die in a few hours and we were lethargic and weak. This leads to a desire that the new food, a great experience once again. And there we will turn around in a vicious circle.

Physiology of addiction is as follows:

When you eat a food addictive, stimulating hormone-like substances at the end of the nerves, causing an avalanche of similar stimulatory substances and suffered a major. Substances such as nearby nerves are exhausted, they enter the low phase, which will take you to feel that the food again. This yo-yo phase of nerve stimulation and depletion leads to a dependency model.

Dependence on food consumption is one of the oldest unhealthy food practices, and despite the revolution in health consciousness, shows no signs of dying.

Here are some of the side effects of some food addiction.

Alcohol dependence: the erosion of stomach and intestinal mucosa, liver damage, nutritional deficiencies.

Snuff: the erosion of the gums and tongue may lead to cancer of the oral mucosa.

Betel nut: Leads to discoloration of teeth, erosion of the oral mucosa and cancer of the mouth and upper digestive tract. It will also lead to heart problems among people who already have a weak heart.

Ma Huang: It contains ephedrine and leads to heart problems.

Soft drinks: High doses of caffeine.

Caffeine and xanthine: Found in tea, coffee. These are just very harmful in large doses, which do not consume more than five cups a day.

Mixed reactions to medications: People who use drugs for the heart, hypertension and asthma should be very careful about drug interactions with food simulants, such as mixing the two can be fatal. After years of experience, all doctors know how difficult it is to break the food dependency of their patients. Like them, I can only recommend a good compromise. If you can not break the addiction, at least you should practice moderation.
